Matthew Thomas Ross is an award-winning filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon. His three narrative short films have screened across many festivals with one winning Best Sci-Fi Short at the 20th Manhattan Film Festival in 2022.

His first feature length film is an autobiographical documentary "Into the Unknown: My Cancer Story" which follows his recent journey battling a rare form of stage 4 cancer. It premiered at the Oscar qualifying Sebastopol Doc Festival in 2025 and won the Audience Award at the 16th Annual Eastern Oregon Film Festival.

In 2024 Matthew kicked the shit out of stage 4 appendix cancer and wants you to schedule regular doctor check ups.
